– Player hits forehand approach shot and backhand volley to the ad side
– Coach feeds last 2 balls to the ad side
– Player hits forehand approach shot and backhand volley cross court
– Player repeats this pattern

Objectives: Balance, Catching, Jumping, Ball tracking

– Coach stands in front of the player
– Coach throws the ball to the ride side
– Player jumps, catches the ball, lands on the right leg and throws the ball back
– Coach throws the ball to the left side
– Player jumps, catches the ball, lands on the left leg and throws the ball back
– Player repeats this pattern

Objectives: Balance after the serve

In this drill, player works on balance after the serve. Cones are set  in 2 lines in front of the player. Player serves and tries to keep balance between the cones. Ability to control the body after the serve is the first step to quickly react to the next shot.

This drill shows how to improve rhythm in forehand. Coach stands in front of the player and keeps the ball in hand. Player shadows forehand. Coach randomly drops the ball to let the player repeat the motion while hitting the ball.
