– Coach feeds a ball to the ad side doubles alley
– Player hits backhand slice approach shot down the line on the run and moves to the net
– The goal is to learn how to transition to the net in the most effective way while dealing with a difficult alley ball

Objectives: Weight transfer

In this exercise, player can improve forehand weight transfer. Coach tosses the ball. Player has to hit forehand and jump forward on the front leg. This movement will prevent from moving back while hitting.

Objectives: Backhand, Placement, Consistency, Control

– Cones are set in different spots on the court (stations)
– Player starts from the first station
– Coach feeds the ball to the first station
– Player tries to hit deep zone on the AD side
– If player makes the zone, he is moving to the next station
– If player misses the zone, he is trying again
– Player repeats this pattern

– Player puts the body weight on the back leg
– Coach feeds the ball to the backhand side
– Player hits backhand without moving the feet
– The goal is to learn how to hit backhand stroke with the weight on the back leg. This skill is necessary while dealing with deep and fast balls

– The goal is to learn how to slide back while dealing with deep balls

– Player sprints and hits finishing forehand down the line on the run
– The goal is to perform tactical pattern and finish with the good shot on the run
