Objectives: Placement, Change of depth, Change of direction

– Coach feeds the ball to the ad side
– Player hits deep backhand cross court
– Coach feeds another ball to the deuce side
– Player hits angle forehand cross-court
– By performing this drill player learns how to open the court with a deep shot and put the opponent on the run with the next angle ball.

Objectives: Technique, Strategy, Backhand

– Coach feeds high and deep balls to the ad side
– Player learns how to deal with these balls while using different strokes
– Player tries to move back, take the ball right after the bounce, take the ball on the rise or take it out of the air
– The goal is to develop different responses to deep balls to be able to execute various shots against different opponents

– Coach and player rally together
– Coach hits the ball all around the court
– Player tries to hit all the balls deep to the middle of the court
– The goal is to learn how to hit deep neutral shots to the middle from any spot on the court. This skill is really helpful while dealing with offensive opponents
