– Coach feeds random balls to the forehand side
– Player has to use open stance to hit forehand
– The goal is to learn and get comfortable with open stance that is necessary while dealing with fast balls

– Coach stands in front of the player
– Player serves from the ad side
– After the serve player runs around the cone
– Coach throws the ball deep to the ad side
– Player quickly moves back and hits defensive backhand
– Player repeats this pattern

– Player serves wide from the deuce side
– Coach feeds the ball to the deuce side
– Player hits forehand cross-court
– Coach feeds another ball to the deuce side
– Player finishes with forehand down the line
– The goal is to learn how to connect serve with the forehand strokes in a tactical pattern

– Player stands behind the rings
– Player uses forehand and backhand volleys
– Player has to perform a split step into the rings before he hits the shot
– The goal is to create a habit to make a split step automatically

– Player stands behind the baseline
– Coach throws throws the ball to the backhand side
– Player moves to the ball, slides and hits backhand stroke
– The goal of this exercise is to learn how to hit backhand while sliding to the side. Sliding action is necessary to play successfully on clay courts so players have to feel comfortable while sliding in different directions

– Coach feeds a ball to the forehand side
– Player hits forehand and recovers to the middle
– Player performs 4 jumps up and back over the baseline before he moves to the next shot
– The goal is to challenge the forehand stroke by performing specific physical exercise between the shots. Jumps make legs tired so player learns how to effectively hit the ball while having tired legs

– Player moves in different directions and crosses the cones with left leg
– The goal is to coordinate the movement and learn how to push from left leg. This motion is helpful while recovering after shots in tennis
